Handstand Foundations

Have some FUN as you learn how to develop a handstand safely and efficiently, building from the ground up!

The handstand is a fun skill to achieve, but we also recognize that it can be scary or frustrating if you’re unsure of where to start or focus time and attention on. In our 2-hours together, expect to learn all about the strength, flexibility and technique foundations to ensure you progress your inversion journey with confidence! Our experienced team has helped hundreds of adults unleash their superhuman and master the handstand – it’s your turn now! 

Expect to explore:

  • Shaping drills and why they’re important
  • Flexibility drills related to help you achieve optimal positions
  • How to safely fall/exit out of an inversion 
  • Headstands and introduction to handstand push ups
  • Getting comfortable inverting on the wall / feet elevated
  • The basics of kicking up to handstand

Frequently asked questions

This beginner program is designed to individuals new to inversions, or individuals who might have a basic understanding of inversions, but would like additional guidance and support to take their skills (and confidence) to the next level.

No previous experience is required. However, you should have a base of strength in a support hold position like a plank.

Everyone can benefit from a review of the foundations, especially if you’ve never done a gymnastics coaching program before.

However, if you ARE super confident already, we are offering a “Handstand RX” workshop from 2:30pm-4:30pm on the same day. 

The pre-requisites for this session are:

  • 30s+ Open body hollow hold
  • 30s+ Wall-facing handstand hold (within 2 hand distance from wall)
  • Comfortable kicking up off the wall (free-balance attempts) without assistance
